Adding New Inventory Items with Provisioning
Purpose:
Use this document when adding a new equipment type, device model, or inventory item that has not already been configured in CamvioWeb. This process ensures new inventory items are captured accurately, are provisioned successfully through the API, and are tested before production use.

Before you begin:
Before adding new inventory items, confirm that:
● The item has not already been configured in CamvioWeb.
● The vendor spreadsheet has been received.
● Required provisioning fields are available.
● A test account and lab equipment are available for validation.
● The user completing the process has inventory management permissions.
Data Requirements from Equipment Vendor
A spreadsheet must be provided from the organization’s equipment vendor containing the required inventory data. This spreadsheet serves as the source of truth for all provisioning inputs.
API Provisioning Requirements
The following key fields are required for any new equipment being requested.
Field Requirement
ONT_PROFILE_ID must match the provisioning profile expected by the API.
ONT_PORT Must identify the correct ONT port used for provisioning.
These values are critical for ensuring successful communication with the provisioning system and must be validated before submission.
Lab Testing and Production Readiness Validation
Camvio recommends validating new equipment in a lab environment before production use. A dedicated test account should be used for validation.
This setup allows teams to:
● Verify API provisioning calls
● Confirm successful data transmission
● Identify and resolve issues before production deployment
